Independent Living

A successful Residential Care Home, Springfields is the former Rectory of this pretty village, set on the fringes of Dartmoor National Park. Bridestowe has a population of around five hundred, with local facilities including Post Office and village store, two public houses, church, a chapel and school. More comprehensive amenities are available in Okehampton (6 miles), Tavistock (10 miles) and Launceston (10 miles), all of which are very well served by public transport.

Springfields is home to around thirty residents, who enjoy a friendly atmosphere. Our new bungalows will be found next to the main house, in a pretty courtyard setting, enjoying views over the well-stocked and landscaped small lake, established shrubs and trees, to the countryside beyond.

The resident warden helps provide a secure and welcoming environment for new residents and organises social events such as coffee mornings at festive and other times. For drivers, private parking is provided immediately adjacent to the bungalows.

Home-owners will benefit from carefully designed and purpose-built accomodation, with features allowing adaptation to cater for ambulant and the fully disabled, should this become necessary.

Our Homes ar built to NHBC standard, and details of our specification are included in the downloadable brochure on this page.

Residents of the bungalows benefit from the services provided by the management of Springfields. Insurance of the properties and upkeep of the grounds, car parking area and exterior of the dwellings are fully maintained from the annual management charges.

What is Close Care Housing?

Close Care Housing means a property built in the grounds of a Registered Nursing or Residential Care Home, where certain services are provided or are available on call.

Such a property allows you to retain your independence for a much longer period. You can enjoy the advantages of a new home, designed to assist you even though your mobility may be reduced at a later date.

All the maintenance responsibilities of the property and gardens are managed on your behalf.

Close Care is available from professional staff. You can obtain a range of caring and domestic services upon request, paying only for what you need, when you need it.

You can relax, safe and secure, yet continuing to enjoy your privacy.
