About Springfields

Springfields began life as the Bridestowe rectory before being lovingly transformed into a residential home. For over 40 years, we’ve been a sought-after care setting, with many residents and families choosing us for our welcoming atmosphere, spacious rooms, and compassionate staff.

Since 2023, Springfields has been under the directorship of Dr Arul Neel & Dr Sharath Jaiprakash, who bring investment, expertise, and fresh vision while preserving the warm family values Springfields is known for.

Our philosophy is simple: every resident should have the freedom to live as they choose, supported when needed, independent where possible.

Life & activities

 

Life at Springfields is active, social, and varied. Our weekly programme includes:

  • Art, cookery, music therapy, and gentle exercise sessions.
     
  • Visits from Collytown Ponies and falconry displays.
     
  • School visits from Bridestowe Primary.
     
  • Church services, outings to local landmarks, and cream teas at nearby Sourton Church.
     

Residents choose how much or little they’d like to join in – it’s their home, their choice.

facilities & accomodation

 All rooms are single en-suite, with larger rooms available for couples.
 

Residents are encouraged to bring treasured belongings or small items of furniture.

 Four spacious lounges:

  • The New Lounge – with a regularly updated library.
     
  • The Old Lounge – cosy evenings watching TV together.
     
  • Two additional sitting areas for quieter socialising or family visits.

  • Wide, level corridors and passenger lifts for easy mobility.
     
  • Adapted bath and shower rooms with hoists.
     
  • Beautiful gardens and bright communal dining.

dining & well-being

 Our three cooks prepare meals fresh daily from a five-week rotating menu, shaped by resident feedback.

  • Special diets (vegetarian, diabetic, low-fat, etc.) always catered for.
     
  • Residents’ weights are monitored to ensure nutrition and wellbeing.
     
  • Meals are social occasions in the dining room, though can be enjoyed in residents’ rooms if preferred.

quality & inspections

 Springfields is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and consistently rated “Good” in all domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-Led. 

 We also maintain high staff-to-resident ratios, with approximately 50 trained staff, most holding NVQ or equivalent qualifications.
